Caleb Joined me at the Price Chopper Kids Cooking Club to Share our Strawberry & Chocolate Milk Swaps & Trades

chocolate & strawberry milk

Caleb in the kitchen Valentine’s is always a fun time to be in the kitchen.  This month I was very lucky to meet up with three more amazing kids that are a part of the Price Chopper Kids Cooking Club.   They joined me to help share a few fun recipes for you to try at home.

First up is Caleb who joined me to make & taste test my Strawberry & Chocolate Milk Recipes, which are my swaps and trades to using natural ingredients & eliminating the high fructose corn syrup in certain ingredients at my own house.  He gave both mixes a ‘thumbs up’ approval & in the end developed his own concoction by mixing the strawberry & chocolate milks together for a whole new flavor.  Make sure to watch Caleb’s debut in the video below;

Our Chocolate Milk Swap & Trade  by Jodie Fitz

 1 cup ice

1 cup Price Chopper low-fat or fat-free milk

chocolate & strawberry milk1 ½ tablespoons Price Chopper cocoa powder

1 teaspoon Price Chopper vanilla extract

 ¼ cup Price Chopper honey

Add the ice, milk, cocoa powder, vanilla extract & honey into a blender.  Blend the ingredients until the ice is fully crushed & the ingredients are well mixed.

Note:  You may have to stop half way through the blending process and scrape cocoa powder & honey from the sides with a spatula and then continue to blend the rest of the way.

Honey:  You can decrease the honey if you decrease the cocoa powder, this will depend on your family’s taste buds.

Almond Milk:  Give this blend a try with almond milk; it’s one of our favorite ways to make it.

1 cup Price Chopper frozen fresh strawberries (no syrup added)

1 cup Price Chopper low-fat or fat-free milk

1 teaspoon Price Chopper vanilla extract

 3 tablespoons Price Chopper honey

Add the ice, strawberries, milk, vanilla extract and honey into a blender.  Blend the ingredients until the strawberries are fully crushed and mixed thoroughly into the recipe.

Note:  Occasionally you may have to stop the blending process mid-way through to scrape the honey from the sides and then continue the process.

  * Both recipes yield approximately two 8 oz. – 10oz. servings.

P.S. Don’t forget to try Caleb’s concoction of both flavors mixed together!
