This month I am reminding kids everywhere that it’s easy to make eggs! Hard-boiled eggs are one of nature’s easiest fast foods. Once they’ve been hard-boiled & decorated, they make delicious (and easy) deviled eggs, which happens to be one of my kids favorites.

This Easter I’m sharing how to use the Betty Crocker Fun Writers to create a Pastel Decorated Easter Egg, which is a fun way to celebrate the season & minimize the mess.
Once the decorating has been completed, it’s time to teach the kids how to make deviled eggs for a whole new flavorful bite; my basic deviled egg recipe is below.
After the deviled eggs are complete, you can line up some extra food fun supplies & the kids can turn their deviled eggs into Emoji Eggs for festive fun at the Easter table.
Deviled Eggs by Jodie Fitz
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon ground mustard
¼ teaspoon sea salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Cut the eggs in half length-wise. Scoop out the cooked egg yolks. In a mini food processor mix the egg yolks, mayonnaise, onion powder, garlic powder, ground mustard, sea salt & black pepper.
Fill the area you removed the yolk with the mixture by using a spoon or get fancy & pipe it in with decorating tools.
Kid Fun: At Easter have a bunch of supplies like black food writers, olives, tomatoes, etc. & print out a chart of emojis & let the kids turn their hard-boiled eggs into emoji-eggs.
