One of my favorite breakfast foods is homemade turkey sausage! It’s really pretty simple to make. Add a few spices to ground turkey, cook it up & BAM you have part of a delicious breakfast that makes it look and sound like you’ve slaved in the kitchen when it really only takes a matter of 30 minutes tops. These turkey breakfast sausages are perfect for entertaining around the holidays or just to savor for your own tastebuds.
One of my favorite ways to serve them are with cooked eggs and spinach in a Five Grain FlatOut Fold-it as a breakfast sandwich = yum!
And, if you follow along at my site, I’m A-L-W-A-Y-S trying to figure out how to SAVE TIME. So here are my TIME SAVER TIPS in planning ahead on this recipe:
1. Make this recipe in triplicate on the weekends! Then either freeze it in patties or in one pound increments so that you have it ready when needed.
2. Here is my suggestion for freezing the turkey sausage in patties. Make the patties & place them on a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper. Place them in the freezer for one hour. Then wrap each patty individually in parchment paper and place them in an airtight freezer container or freezer bag.
Turkey Breakfast Sausage BY Jodie Fitz
1 pound ground turkey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 teaspoons ground black pepper
3/4 teaspoons ground sage
3/4 teaspoons ground thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon ground fennel seeds
Mix all of the spices with the ground turkey. Form The meat mixture into patties. Cook the parties in a frying pan lightly coated with non-stick spray. Flip them frequently while cooking.
