Calling all Kids (and parents who want to be memory makers)! It’s time for a little chocolate covered stuffed strawberries turned love bugs for Valentine’s Day. How cute are these?
It’s always the little moments & the little things we do that end up being the big memory makers…I hope you make a whole lot of yummy memories with your kids with these love bugs.
Love Bugs with Jodie Fitz
8 – 10 large Strawberries, fresh
5 oz. Greek vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 cups Dark chocolate morsels
8 – 10 Flat Pretzels
Rinse and dry the strawberries. Cut off the tops & hull the center.
Lay the pretzels onto a plate (or other flat surface) covered with waxed paper.
Melt 1 cup of dark morsels in a glass bowl in the microwave for 1 minute. The morsels will not look melted until you stir. If they still aren’t fully melted, microwave for 30 second intervals, stirring after each time until fully melted.
Using a spoon, cover one side of the pretzels with chocolate and let set in the refrigerator. Once they are set, turn them over & cover the other side with melted chocolate and let them set.
Dip the strawberries 3/4 of the way into melted chocolate (you may have to melt the additional 1 cup of chocolate as instructed above).
While the strawberries are not fully set, add the chocolate covered pretzels onto the back as wings so that they stick in place.
Let the strawberries set in the refrigerator.
Fold together the Greek yogurt and whipped topping. Put the mixture into a sealable lunch sized bag and seal. Clip one corner of the bag & pipe the mixture into the hulled strawberries. Add the eyes & serve!
