Fresh Apples in this Peanut Butter Combo

apples and peanut butter combo

This recipe is not just for the kids!  I LOVE this combo…YUP, it’s one of my fall favorites.  I created it years ago to swap out the jelly in my kid’s lunch box, but I discovered along the way that it’s one of my lunch favorites.  Heck, truth be told…not that it’s any huge revelation or juicy truth to share, except for the apples…I’ve eaten this for breakfast & dinner & a snack or two.  So, versatility  is key!  The bites I love in any recipe include are quick, easy & healthier combination that I can serve myself & my family & share with you…

Peanutty Apple Wraps by Jodie Fitz

¼ cup peanut butter

1 tablespoon honey

½ teaspoon cinnamon

10 thin apple slices (approximately ½ an apple)

1 FlatOut® Honey Wheat or Healthy Grain Flatbread

(A special thanks to Mr. Micah who so patiently posed in this pic on a VERY long photo shoot day with his fabulous new haircut…it was countless shots before we got him in action taking that bite…the behind the scenes is never as perfect as the picture ~ lol ~ but still fun stuff)

Wash, peel & core the apple.

Stir the peanut butter, honey & cinnamon together.

Spread the peanut butter mixture onto the flatbread, add the apples and roll it or fold it like a burrito.

Peanut allergies: Replace the peanut butter spread with the following mixture; 1 tablespoon of whipped cream cheese, 1 tablespoon vanilla low fat yogurt, 1 teaspoon honey and 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Have Extra Apple Slices?

Place them in a Ziploc sandwich sized bag, add a sprinkle of cinnamon, seal the bag & shake until the apples are coated. Save for a snack later.

  1. That sounds so easy and delicious! I often pair peanut butter and apples but never thought of making a sandwich or wrap out of it. Pinned.
