This Apple Banana Smoothie Recipe is easy and simple, but packed with flavor and fruit.  This smoothie blend is perfect for breakfast or an after school snack.  It’s a recipe the entire family will enjoy.

Apple Banana Smoothie Recipe

Like smoothies?  I love smoothies.  The first smoothie I ever had as a child was an apple banana combination.  I have modified the original recipe and I’ve even added in a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter, but it’s this basic blend of apples and bananas that started my love for these kind of blended drinks.  

I/we are always on the run and I have found smoothies to be a very helpful and healthful way to get in our fruits and veggies in with a busy lifestyle. 

Even when we aren’t running out the door, I find two of my kids leaning towards a smoothie for a snack, which is fine with me.  The problem is getting everyone to put their dirty dishes in the dishwasher immediately (lol).

Apple Banana Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup milk (or your favorite alternative)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Wash the apple. Peel, core, slice and dice the apple. Add it to the blender pitcher.

Peel and add the banana to the blender.

Add in the ice, milk, peanut butter, honey, vanilla extract and cinnamon.

Blend the ingredients well and serve.

No Ice? Simply put a banana in the freezer the night before and swap the frozen banana for the ice in the recipe.

  1. Smoothies are something we don’t really do a lot of. Izzy loves her milk and the odd milkshake. Hmmm, could be interesting to let her try make one herself and see how she goes with it. Would have never thought to put peanut butter in it though 🙂

    1. Thank you! So, I did put it into the recipe analyzer…I typically don’t include the info because I never know what products people use, etc. I break that blender into 2 servings.

      It’s under 175 calories per serving with the specific products I use. Note: I use a dairy alternative like almond milk. You can plug in your specific products to get a better indication of the calorie count. I hope that’s helpful :)! Sorry it’s not specific, but honestly there are so many factors to consider…

    1. Thank you! We love smoothies too. Yes, you can use oat milk. The banana milk may tip the scales on the flavor… maybe use the banana milk and leave the banana out? I will be curious – let me know!!! I will have to experiment with the banana milk :). Enjoy and have a GREAT day.
