Baked Brie Recipe Tonight was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend after the kids were home for two weeks.  I rounded off my day with a get together with the book club crew, we exchanged gifts & made a plan for the New Year.  I brought my baked brie recipe with pears & walnuts to share & then it was home to catch the season premier of Downton Abbey in my jams with my feet in the air!  

I LOVE baked brie with pears.  It’s quick, it’s easy & it’s pretty much a no fuss share that’s deliciously yummy & always a hit.  Here’s my recipe;

 

Bake Brie with Pears & Walnuts by Jodie Fitz

7 oz. light brie

1 pear

1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Warm up the oven to 375 degrees.

remove the brie rindI cheat!  I actually cut off the side edge & the top that looks like a thin paper rind, but leave it on the bottom.  Most cheese connoisseurs might disagree, but all of my friends who have tried it both ways will tell you that you get more of the soft cheese mixed with the fruits and nuts by doing this set giving it the ‘thumbs up’ approval.

Place the cheese in a glass baking dish, the rind that’s left should be touching the dish.

baked brie diced pearsWash & dry the pear.  Dice it into small pieces.  

Mix the pear together with the walnuts, brown sugar & cinnamon.  Pour the mixture over the brie.  Bake for 15 – 20 minutes & serve with whole grain crackers = delish in a dish! baked brie
