Banana Nut Smoothie anyone?  Banana and peanut butter go together like like ‘rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong’ ….


Yes, we love the combination of bananas and peanut butter, add a splash of maple syrup in the blender with a few other key ingredients = WOWZA YUM!  It’s like ‘one of a kind Like dip da-dip da-dip doo-wop da doo-bee doo’.

  • 1 banana, frozen
  • 1 cup milk, low-fat
  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

The Banana Nut Smoothie is really a very simple combination and it’s the perfect blend to remind us all that food doesn’t have to be complicated to taste great.  After all, my personal tagline says it all….‘EASY is my favorite ingredient’.

WAIT!  I have another Banana Nut Smoothie Recipe thought:

  • FREEZE the bananas ahead of time!

What the what what.  I know shocking (JK).  We all know about freezing bananas, but really, it’s the bomb when it comes to making smoothies with bananas in them.  The best way to freeze bananas?  

  1.  Peel the bananas.
  2. Slice the bananas
  3. Lay the banana slices on a baking sheet that’s lined with parchment paper.  
  4. Cover them with parchment paper.
  5. Pop them in the freezer for a few hours.  
  6. Remove the sheet of frozen pieces and place them in an airtight container or freezer bag until you need them.

Did you know that you can actually freeze bananas whole in the peel? YES you can.  It’s the original way of freezing bananas for banana bread baking etc.  Slices are easier to keep and measure for smoothies, but really you can do it either way.
