WAIT! I have another Banana Nut Smoothie Recipe thought:
- FREEZE the bananas ahead of time!
What the what what. I know shocking (JK). We all know about freezing bananas, but really, it’s the bomb when it comes to making smoothies with bananas in them. The best way to freeze bananas?
- Peel the bananas.
- Slice the bananas
- Lay the banana slices on a baking sheet that’s lined with parchment paper.
- Cover them with parchment paper.
- Pop them in the freezer for a few hours.
- Remove the sheet of frozen pieces and place them in an airtight container or freezer bag until you need them.
Did you know that you can actually freeze bananas whole in the peel? YES you can. It’s the original way of freezing bananas for banana bread baking etc. Slices are easier to keep and measure for smoothies, but really you can do it either way.
