1 dozen Price Chopper large eggs
1 Easter Decorating kit
First, hard-boil the eggs. Start by placing the eggs gently in a pan and covering them with cold water; approximately an inch above the eggs. Bring the eggs to a boil, cover them and let them boil in the water for approximately 7 minutes. Turn off the heat and let the eggs set in the hot water for approximately 7 more minutes. Shock the eggs by running them under cold water after their 14 minutes of cooking & they are ready to go.
Once the eggs have completely cooled, they are ready to decorate.
How to Decorate Ombre Style;
- Dip the entire egg into a color. Don’t let it soak, simply dip, let it set for 10 seconds and remove it. Let it dry; you can wipe off the excess with a paper towel.
- Dip the egg 2/3 of the way into the same color and let it set 20 – 30 seconds. Remove it and wipe away the excess color.
- Dip the egg 1/3 of the way into the same color again and let it set for 40 – 60 seconds. Remove it and wipe away the excess color.
Note: Some egg decorating kits will call for water only, but the color will adhere better if you add one tablespoon of white vinegar to each color before using.
