Halloween Popcorn…

Tonight It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is on TV!

How many years have I been watching this special?

Skipping that thought & moving on to the fact that I actually still look forward to watching all of these timeless treasures with a new found love that combines my childhood memories & new snuggles with my own crew (well the two that are home & the one that will still let me snuggle with them because they aren’t too old yet – LOL)…

Two weeks ago my daughter went to a friends for a Spooky Buddies Movie Night & then we had our own Spooky Buddies family movie night this past week and for both events we shared Halloween Popcorn. It was a big hit all around…here’s my recipe for Halloween Popcorn:

Pop popcorn (I pop ours the old fashioned way – in a pan with a little oil.  My personal favorite is light olive oil…).  Add a little butter and salt.

We always drop a piece for Zoe (she loves popcorn as much as I do…in fact, she begs for it when we make it.  But, she can not have Halloween Popcorn…you’ll see…)

Divide and spread the popcorn onto two baking sheets lined with waxed paper.  Pick out the kernels (VERY IMPORTANT!)

In a glass dish, in the microwave on high, melt 1/4 cup mini chocolate morsels.  Stir until the chocolate is fully melted and drizzle it onto one sheet of the popcorn.  NOTE:  You will have to spoon the chocolate and mix the popcorn until it is lightly covered.

In a glass dish, in the microwave on high, melt 1/4 cup white chocolate morsels.  Stir until the chocolate is fully melted.  Add in orange food coloring and stir until the color is evenly distributed.  Drizzle it on to the other sheet of popcorn and mix until lightly covered.

Let the popcorn set in the refrigerator until the chocolate has hardened.  Mix the colors of popcorn together and serve.  FUN TREAT!
