Summertime is synonymous with s’mores and play dates, so why not combine them? Here’s a fun, no fire required s’more activity that will not just melt into a delicious combination, but into the hearts of your s’more lovin’ crew.
We have tested these with a one-on-one play date and recently at a small pool party. They were a hit both times & in all honesty, making this simple combination is just as much fun as eating them. And, with the current heat wave, it’s a perfect share for a little summer fun.
Mini Hershey Bars
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
(other potential ingredients for combinations could include peanut butter, Nutella spread, caramel filled Hershey kisses etc.)
Take one full graham cracker and split it into two halves. Cut a marshmallow in half. Create a s’more sandwich using the graham crackers as the bread. Fill your sandwich with a cut marshmallow and chocolate of choice.
Wrap each s’more individually in foil.
Place the wrapped s’mores on a baking sheet and place them in the sun while you go have a little fun. Note: the time for sun baking is dependent on the warmth of the day and placing these treats in the direct sunlight. However, on a hot day this project should take as little as 15 minutes!
Unwrap the tin foil and enjoy your sun made s’more.
NOTE: It helps to have permanent marker and let the kids place their name on top so that they know which s’more sandwich belongs to them when it comes to the much anticipated unwrap & eat!
Note: I recently wrote this article for Inner Child Food and am excited to be sharing there on a monthly basis.
