Strawberries rolled in a flatbread with sweetened cream cheese and fresh sliced strawberries and sliced to serve.

  • 1 wrap or flatbread
  • ¼ cup whipped cream cheese
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fresh Strawberries

Stir the cream cheese, honey & vanilla together. Spread the mixture onto the wrap or flatbread.

Wash the strawberries & remove the greens. You can hull them or simply cut them off.

Pat the damp strawberries dry with a clean paper towel. Discard the paper towel. NOTE: You don't want the water to add extra moisture to the mix, it could make your wrap soggy.

Slice the strawberries into thin slices.

Evenly lay the strawberry slices on top of the cream cheese mixture.

Carefully roll the wrap or flatbread. slice and serve.

Lessons for Kids:  There’s always lessons to teach children and skills to practice, even if it’s the simplest recipe.  Here are a few things to focus on when making this recipe;

  • Stirring
  • Spreading
  • Slicing
  • Measuring ingredients
  • Fruit prep
  • Hulling
  • Following directions

Slicing and Young Children:  If you have a young child, plastic knives work when learning how to slice strawberries.  Cutting soft fruit with plastic knives promotes confidence and safety when learning how to cut.

Fun Strawberry Facts for the Kiddos:

  • Strawberries are the only fruits that where their seeds on the outside!
  • Despite its name, the strawberry isn’t a true berry in the botanical reference of berries. True story!  I still group them into my berry recipes (shhh).  Here’s a great reference to learn more: click here.
