Have leftover turkey from Thanksgiving? Try making a BBQ Turkey Pizza. It’s a delicious way to use Thanksgiving Leftovers that the whole family will love.
BBQ Turkey Pizza and Thanksgiving Leftovers
Let’s face it, Thanksgiving is fantastic, but it comes with a L-O-N-G week of prep! And, after all of the guests have gone, the house has been reclaimed & all the good dishes are put back in their place, there’s nothing like a couple of evenings of a ‘cooking’ hiatus. And, although I love one night of warm-up and the ever famous turkey sandwich, by day three, I no longer want my Thanksgiving left-overs to taste like Thanksgiving. By day two or three, it’s time to mix it up. One of my favorite left-overs is this BBQ Turkey Pizza.
And, since we are on a bit of a cooking hiatus, I recommend picking up your favorite pre-made crust and pre-shredded cheese. Keep it simple, but tasty while minimizing the kitchen time is key to the Thanksgiving recovery process (lol).
Here is the printable recipe for you to mix, spread and bake.
BBQ Turkey Pizza
Ingredients
- 2 - 3 cups cut, cooked turkey (left-over from Thanksgiving)
- 1/4 cup Whipped Cream Cheese (room temperature)
- 1/2 tsp. Onion Powder
- 1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- BBQ Sauce (your favorite)
- 2 Pizza Crusts, premade
- Sharp cheese, shredded
Instructions
Mix the cream cheese, onion powder & garlic powder together and spread the cream cheese layer on the pizza base of your choice.
Cut the turkey into small, diced pieces and mix with a BBQ sauce of your choice; our favorite is Sweet Baby Ray's.
Add the BBQ turkey onto the cream cheese layer and top it with 4-6 oz. of freshly grated sharp cheese.
Heat your oven to 400 degrees and bake for about 20 minutes; until the cheese is melted and all of the ingredients are heated through.
Notes
Mini Pizza Bagels! Make the mixture above, but spread the cream cheese onto mini bagels, or regular bagels, add the BBQ turkey mixture and sharp cheese and bake in a smaller bite for fun.
It’s a Wrap! Mix the BBQ turkey as directed in my printable version of the recipe. Add 1 – 2 tablespoons of finely chopped onions or scallions. Add 1 – 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise. Spread the mixture onto wraps, add romaine lettuce and enjoy another BBQ turkey bite.
