Thanksgiving Movie Tradition – Thank You Charlie Brown

Some things are magically timeless.  And, without doubt, Charles Schulz certainly captured that magic as it flowed through his creativity and artistry to entertain audiences for almost 40 years.  He is definitely one person I would have liked to have met.  I wonder what it was like to have watched him in the creation process?Regardless, I certainly appreciate him and his work and wish I could say thank you for the years of enjoyment that he has created in our lives.  I fondly remember watching the holiday specials each year as a child and enjoy them just as much, if not more, watching them with my children.

We actually like to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday by watching this video, sometimes the day before, and when we do…I like to serve up popcorn, pretzels, toast and jelly beans just like the Peanuts Gang!  I haven’t purchased all of the Peanuts videos, but I certainly did purchase this particular one….mostly because it often airs on Thanksgiving and who really wants to eat popcorn, pretzels, jelly beans and toast after the Thanksgiving Feast?  Instead, we turn it into a Family Movie Night and often invite friends over for the fun.

Where do you get Jelly Beans for Thanksgiving?  I can find them all year long in the candy aisle at Price Chopper.

This year Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving is airing on Thanksgiving Day at 8PM Central on ABC; here’s the link.
