Easy Valentine Snack Mix
I love this easy, but delicious Valentine Snack Mix combo.
WARNING!!! Once you start snacking, you may not stop. Ha Ha…
This snack mix is great for ‘at home’ Valentine activities, classroom parties, other gatherings and festivities. It’s so easy to make and it’s just the right combination of sweet, salt and crunch.
Did I mention, there’s no oven required? Yes that’s right! This recipe is full of no bake yum.
My favorite way to serve this recipe when entertaining is in individual, Valentine inspired cupcake liners. Why do you ask?
- Your serving platter will look fantastic with this simple, decorative addition.
- Individual, pre-prepped servings is like built in portion control, which I need ~ lol.
- There’s no hands in the big bowl at the party! Germ avoidance is real friends…
Here is the recipe to mix, stir and crunch…
Easy Valentine Snack Mix
Ingredients
- 6 cups of corn or rice Chex cereal
- 1 cup dark or milk chocolate morsels
- 1 cup white chocolate morsels
- 3 cups mini twist fat free pretzels
- Pink and/or red sprinkles
- Valentine’s M&M’s mix
- Waxed paper
Instructions
Place 3 cups of the cereal into a glass bowl. Melt the dark or milk chocolate on high in a glass bowl in the microwave for one minute. Stir until the chocolate is fully melted. Pour it over the cereal and stir until the cereal is coated with the chocolate. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with waxed paper and let it set until the chocolate has hardened in a cool place.
Repeat the same process with the additional 3 cups of cereal & the white chocolate. After spreading it onto the waxed paper sprinkle it with pink sprinkles and then let it set until the chocolate has hardened. In a large bowl stir together the pretzels, vanilla covered Chex cereal, the chocolate covered Chex cereal & the M&M’s.
Notes
Just a Note: Sometimes, you have to break apart the chocolate covered cereal pieces a bit after the chocolate has set. It depends on the way the chocolate covered cereal pieces are spread on the baking sheet. Make sure the tray is covered with waxed paper or parchment paper before you complete this step.
Add-in? You can add some nuts into the mix at home if you’d like and have no allergies. I leave them out when entertaining to be safe! If we add them in at home you can add peanuts, almonds or cashews. Or, you can add in some Valentine decorative chocolate covered peanut M & M’s.
