Valentine Snacks made Healthy with Mozzarella & Tomatoes

making healthy valentine snacks

I had such a great time meeting up with friends at the Price Chopper Kids Cooking Club studio kitchen to get ready to share this month’s deliciously easy recipes with you guys.

Gabby helped us to start our kitchen fun this month with Valentine Snacks. Our focus was a quick & easy classroom bite & together we made up a platter of hearts that’s certain to delight. We took basic mozzarella, turned it into hearts, shot a tomato through the center & skewed it all together with a cupid arrow.   You can check out Gabby’s quick share in the video below & then grab the recipe complete with dipping sauce options and give it a try.

Valentine’s Mozzarella Bites by Jodie Fitz

8 oz. Price Chopper mozzarella cheese, part-skim

1 pint Grape tomatoes

Small skewers

Heart shaped cookie cutter, small

Slice the mozzarella cheese at least 3/4 inch thick. Using a smaller cookie cutter, you can get 4 hearts out of each slice of cheese. Cut a small whole in the center of the heart by using a small round fondant cutter or a knife. Insert the grape tomato & skew them together with the small wooden skewer. Serve as is or with a little dip.

Cookie cutter: Use a small heart, approximately 2 – 3 inches to create these Valentine snack bites.
