Warm Apple-Pear Sauce by Jodie Fitz
1 tsp Price Chopper Cinnamon
3 tablespoons Price Chopper light olive oil
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons agave syrup, light
½ tsp Price Chopper vanilla extract
Peel, core and dice both the apples and the pears. Set the fruits aside. In a sautéing pan or shallow frying pan, warm the olive oil, water and agave syrup together. Add in the fruit, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Cover the mixture and cook until the fruit is tender, but not too soft.
Kids in the Kitchen: Younger children might not be able to help with the stove top, but they can assist with cutting the ripe fruit with a plastic or butter knife. First, an adult should remove skin, core the fruit and cut it into strips so that little hands can easily assist with the dicing.
